ironman

We all know about the fan following of Ironman and how crazy people are for this imaginary yet phenomenal personality. He is like a superhero for us when it comes to Hollywood movies. So a general question often strikes to our mind about “What is the plural form of Ironman?” A very interesting question isn’t? Here we all meet a general perception according to the education we have got and the different rules related to it.So, Do we talk about several “Ironmans” or “Ironmen”?

The Plural of Ironman: “Ironmans”

Ironman sounds like a heroic name because you’d say “Oh my God! There goes Ironman!” not “There is Ironman!” whereas “Ironman” usually starts with a capital letter just like the same rule all of our names follow. We usually use “S” for plurals in case of names, just like you’d say there are five Batmans and five Daredevils in the comic book.

The Plural of Ironman: “Ironmen”

While explaining why the plural of “Ironman” should be “Ironmans”, people don’t connect to this answer much. So it makes “Ironmen” sound quite popular or maybe the people who like “Ironmen” are just used to the rules we all follow. If we think of it in a grammatical way “Ironmen” sounds quite correct than saying “Ironmans”. While speaking “Ironmen” and “Ironmans”, one would definitely feel awkward while reciting “Ironmans” because it sounds odd.

In the end, we come to the conclusion that although generally, even if it’s a name, the plural form of “Ironman” will be “Ironmans,” only in the Ironman World or we can say the human-made imaginary and intriguing world. The plural form will be “Ironmen,” especially when there are people in many numbers who aren’t the Ironman.
