Difference between Placate, Conciliate and Console

Please explain the difference between “Placate”, “Conciliate” and “Console”?

  1. Placate is for anger against a particular person.

    Conciliate is for anger against some policy or something else.

    Placate – To calm down someone when angry
    Console – To calm down someone when sad or low.
    Conciliate – To calm down someone by some agreement or promises.

     

    Examples:

    The teacher somehow managed to placate the angry parents

    I tried to console her but she could not forgive herself.

    Arpita rejected Jagrati’s attempts to conciliate her by buying her some chocolates.
