a sample of 36 males have a mean weight of 72 +- 6 with 95% confidence. what is the confidence interval for mean. thank you.

  1. Hello there! I think you have already told the confidence interval yourself.

    72 ± 6 means: [66, 78]
    If you want percentage, then that too you have already given: 95%

    Then I guess, only standard deviation would be the thing you would be wanting.

    I am solving this question for standard deviation.

  2. For standard deviation:

    z . SE = 6
    1.96 × S/√(n-1) = 6
    S = (6 × √35) /1.96
