It’s Okay to not have a plan – Let life surprise you and don’t give up

don't give up

If you’re going through hell, keep going.
                – Winston Churchill

As far as I know, our life has always been planned in our head. Everything is scripted, from our to-do list to how we should look when we go out; and when it doesn’t happen the way we planned, it turns out to be our biggest nightmare. All of us are comfortable having a plan but what we don’t want to accept is, life doesn’t always go the way we planned and sometimes life happens to you when you are busy planning other things.

Sometimes life happens to you when you are busy planning other things.

We want a positive result out of everything we do in life but little do we know that it is never in our control. What is in our control is to give our best and leave the rest. Not everything we do in our life will translate into a success story but it surely will be a fantastic learning experience, it will help us in building resilience. Failure is the simplest excuse to give up but to never give up is the toughest thing. We never realize this but we do learn to handle rejections through the smallest things that we face every day. A classic example to support this theory is that with the rickshaw walas. You never know who will give into your plea of taking you home but just because four of them said no to you in a row doesn’t mean that you give up on going home. We have to find an alternative to reach our destination.

Failure is the simplest excuse to give up but to never give up is the toughest thing.

Nothing in life is going to come easy, we will have to hustle. Not having a plan actually works out to be the best because in the process we chance upon many other alternatives. Sometimes the things we do just for fun turn out to be the game changer(s) for us and open so many doors for us, a lot of opportunities come our way. It’s okay to not be sure about what you want out of your life.

When life gives you lemons, slice those suckers up and find some tequila.

It’s also okay to feel inferior when we see others doing great things in life but what we forget is we may not be good at what he/she is doing but we may be good at a few other things. It’s only important to realize what your potential is and to do things you are passionate about and things will fall into place someday because Hard work does pay off. Not everyone gets what he expects but getting something unexpected will give you a pleasure you could never have experienced. Also, in the process you cannot make everyone happy – what is important is that you keep yourself happy and that is very very necessary.

Having a chalked out plan for your life is good but not having one is also okay. Things change at every step but when life gives you lemons, slice those suckers up and find some tequila. In the end, it’s okay to not have a plan and it’s okay to not be okay.
