    In order to have maximum power from a Pelton turbine, the bucket speed must be Equal to half the jet speed. Since, velocity of bucket = ½ times the velocity of jet.

    The correct answer is option (b).
    The bucket speed must be half of the jet speed in order to have maximum power from a Pelton Turbine.
    When we formulate the equation of power, we get P= 2ρQ(v-u)u. For maximum power, derivative of power with respect to u must be zero. This calculation results into u=v/2.
